PR for Latch – Community Share Issue 2023

I was delighted to be appointed again to help Leeds housing charity, Latch, launch their second Community Share Issue. This enables socially responsible investors to help Latch raise £650,000 to purchase and transform 6 derelict houses in the city, providing quality homes for the homeless and those in housing need.

I was responsible for all aspects of the PR for the launch, as well as supporting with a range of marketing activity. Although freelance, I work as an extended part of the Latch team to ensure that all activity is delivered seamlessly – essentially as an extra, expert pair of hands. I coordinated media for a launch event and was thrilled to secure ITV Yorkshire coverage as well as Greatest Hits Radio. My work on the PR included:

  • Drafting and issuing press releases and mediacall notices
  • Developing a spokesperson biogs for media plus Latch fact files
  • Handling all media enquiries
  • Booking a photographer for the media event and distributing images to media
  • Drafting and issuing an e-newsletter to Latch contacts to tie in with the launch plus a number of other key stories
  • Updating the website with key facts, the press release and other key news stories
  • Monitoring, collating and evaluating PR coverage plus marketing activity and reporting back on learnings and recommendations for future activity

Latch has already reached 33% of its fundraising target within 3 weeks of the launch.
