Proud to have recently completed an environmental marketing project, creating interpretation for Primrose Wood in Pocklington in the Yorkshire Wolds.
The heritage and environmental interpretation includes signage, a leaflet, website content and a series of walks that I will lead in Spring 2026. The elements aim to inspire people to explore and discover the history and wildlife of this wonderful green lung right on the edge of the town.
My role involved:
– Helping to write the funding application by local environmental organisation Greener Pocklington to the Yorkshire Wolds Heritage Trust for the interpretation, which also included the installation of predator proof bird and bat boxes.
– Developing the design briefs, sourcing images and project management.
– Copywriting, design and print for all the elements.
I’ll be leading 3 walks in the Spring to encourage Pocklington residents to delve deeper into this special place including focusing on the wildflowers, local history of the site and how it the space has been enhanced for nature.
There was a lot of interest in the boards when I installed them over the weekend. Many people didn’t even know until they saw the project publicity that the wood existed even though it is right on their doorstep.
Hopefully the project will inspire people to discover this wonderful green space and to take action to help nature in their own gardens and green spaces.
