Media Coverage Success: Local Arts, Heritage, Hotels & Environmental Initiatives

It’s been a busy 12 months generating PR for hotels in North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, local environmental and nature conservation projects and East Yorkshire artists.

Here’s a little snapshot of some recent Yorkshire PR successes.

Hotel and Heritage PR

I worked with Hotel Victoria, Robin Hood’s Bay and the White Hart Hotel, Lincoln to promote overnight stays, events and their food and beverage offers. I developed an annual PR plan for both hotels capitalising on key events, new launches and staff. I pitched to travel trade, lifestyle and leisure publications, hotel and catering titles and influencers to secure press visits and reviews. Here are just a few of the reviews I secured. National World and Yorkshire Post reviews of Hotel Victoria. National World and Savour Magazine review of the White Hart Hotel. I undertook media launches for a new sixteenth century annex and the new Aquitaine spa facilities at the White Hart Hotel.

TV Coverage for World Origin Site Status Event in Lincoln

I secured extensive media coverage , including both BBC and ITV news for the White Hart Hotel’s designation as a World Origin Site.

PR for Pocklington Area Open Studios 2025

I led PR for East Yorkshire artists participating in Pocklington Area Open Studios. Press coverage secured for 2025 included features in the Hull Daily Mail, York Press and Yorkshire Life as well as blogs and listings on a wide range of online sites.

I am an artist and jeweller myself and have also used my PR skills to generate media coverage for my own work. I featured on BBC Rip off Britain in January 2026 when my designs were copied and stolen by Chinese companies. I have since appeared on BBC Look North and worked with BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Radio York on a number of interviews to raise awareness of artists and the issue of copyright theft.

PR for Local Nature Conservation

I currently work on a pro bono basis with local environmental organisation, Greener Pocklington, to deliver PR and marketing for local environmental initiatives. I recently secured coverage for their 2025 garden tree weekend in the Hull Daily Mail, Great British Life, the York Press, the Northern Echo and the Darlington and Stockton Times. Since I started working on their PR, sales of garden trees and attendance at their events has skyrocketed.

I run online courses if you’d like to learn PR skills to benefit your own charity, small business or funded project. I’d also love to chat to you if you are looking for an extra pair of hands to help you raise your profile in the media – either as a one off or on an ongoing basis.
