I’ve got lots of experience in PR crisis management, reputation management and stakeholder engagement across Yorkshire and beyond working with businesses and organisations of all sizes.
PR crisis management is hard to shout about. If I’ve done my job well, there won’t be a ton of headlines to show for it. In fact, I can’t often talk about openly about this aspect of my work at all.

I’ve recently helped a small Yorkshire-based business who is selling their business and, having had negative media coverage in the past, was concerned about being in the papers for the wrong reasons. I’ve supported them by:
⭐ Assessing the situation and identifying key reputational risks
⭐ Reviewing the media landscape and likely areas of interest
⭐ Analysing how similar situations have been covered by the media previously
⭐ Developing a stakeholder communication plan including tailored messaging, approach, statements and Q&As
⭐ Considering their wider approach to brand, positioning and long-term reputation
I’ll continue to work alongside them as the sale progresses, reviewing any tweaks needed to the plan as things change and a new owner is found.
The great news is that they planned ahead and sought advice. Good crisis management starts long before a journalist picks up the phone. Preparation, clear thinking and honest communication can often prevent issues from escalating.
I’ve also worked on crisis management plans for larger businesses, including visitor attractions and conservation organisations, including organising media training for key staff.
And while no plan can guarantee perfect weather, having the right strategy in place means that if a storm does arrive, you’re far better prepared to steer a strong course through it. Result = fewer sleepless nights.
That’s the real value of expert crisis communications: not just responding to problems, but helping you avoid them in the first place.
