Delivering cost effective marketing

Delivering cost effective marketing and PR is absolutely essential, particularly when you work with charities and small businesses like I do. Everyone is feeling the pinch and it’s more important than ever to ensure that every marketing penny is working as hard as possible for you.

I might not be ‘cheap’ but I’m sure I’ll help save you money on your marketing and PR. I constantly monitor and evaluate marketing and PR activity and continually suggest ways to make the marketing budget work harder for my clients – whether that is the budget you spend on my time or the campaign materials I help produce.

New format leaflet for my Yorkshire charity client, Children In Distress

Here are just a few of the recent ways that I’ve saved money for my marketing and PR clients:

  1. Merging two leaflets into one and making it a generic leaflet so that bulk quantities could be ordered and used across marketing campaigns for two years, rather than one. This has saved my York based charity client over £1000 compared with the previous format,
  2. Introducing clients to the fabulous freelance designer I work with. She has worked for major Yorkshire visitor attraction brands but doesn’t have the overheads of a design studio so is much cheaper for the same high quality work. This has saved several of my clients in excess of £1500 a year in design fees alone. She’s even worked with me and my clients on logo refreshes, brand guideline updates and tone of voice projects.
  3. Utilising content across multiple channels. I create annual and monthly content plans for my clients and repurpose content for digital newsletters as web news stories, social media content and even PR. This gives you much more bang for your buck each month and also helps build your brand – bringing consistency and reinforcing your brand messaging across multiple channels.
  4. Benchmarking marketing and PR costs. Because I’ve worked in house, freelance and for marketing and PR agencies, I know how all these relative costs compare. I’ve even led tenders for clients for projects including rebrands, new websites, photographers and PR agencies. You can benefit from the insight gained from this work, which can also save you time and money compared with leading a tender without my input. I can even advise you on how to manage your existing agencies and freelancers to ensure you are getting the best return.
  5. Making maximum use of ‘free’ marketing channels including community websites, facebook groups, online listings and a wealth of other resources.
  6. Sharing insights – I can share my expertise gained working across multiple clients to help inform how your e-newsletter benchmarks or how your fundraising campaign compares. That’s priceless!
  7. My experience spans both marketing and fundraising so I can actively help you generate income. I’ve set up fundraising appeals, built corporate sponsorship programmes and even launched marketing campaigns to encourage legacy giving.
  8. Evaluation, evaluation, evaluation. I’m constantly on the ball reviewing what is working or what isn’t for my clients. That includes everything from tracking which social media posts are generating the most engagement to how your e-newsletter is performing compared with competitors. I also work hard to keep ahead of the latest trends across marketing and PR and to share those insights – including the use of AI and changes in social media algorithms.

If you’d like to find out more about how I can help deliver cost effecting marketing and PR for you, let’s chat. I’ll also happily put you in touch with my happy clients who can tell you how I’ve enhanced efficiency and delivered cost savings for them.
